Sumenep, The Indonesia Sentinel - The masters and the people of Aeng Tongtong Village, Bluto Subdistrict, carried out a parade of palace heirlooms after tanning or cleaning the relics of the Sumenep king in the local village.
The procession was not only the palace heirlooms, but the community dressed in typical palace clothes brought the local village harvest, such as eggplants, tomatoes, coconuts and long beans as a sign of gratitude to the Sumenep district leader.
The procession of handing over the heirlooms was carried out by one of the masters to the Regional Secretary of Sumenep District Edi Rasiyadi, which ended by doing Tarek Topak Barlobaran, as a sign of the completion of tanning and handing over the Sumenep Palace heirlooms.
"This activity is an effort of the local government together with the community, in preserving the great culture and traditions of Sumenep Regency," said Regional Secretary Edi Rasiyadi on the sidelines of the Kirab and Handover of Heritage, in the Great Hall of the Palace, Thursday (27/7/2023).
It is hoped that the entire community has the responsibility to preserve the wealth of traditions and culture amid the onslaught of modernization, so that the ancestral heritage is not eroded by any era, especially the younger generation.
"When all elements of society are committed to maintaining and caring for the heritage of ancestral traditions, of course it will remain sustainable until whenever," explained the Secretary.
A series of Haul and Jamasan Pusaka activities as a calendar activity of the Sumenep District Government, a talk show was held to discuss the keris heirloom which presented the Elder of the Sumenep Palace, RB. Abdurrahman, Sumenep District Education Board, Salamet Wahedi, and Sumenep Content Creator Tempo Dulu, Faiq Nur Fikri.
In addition, during the carnival and heirloom return, students were also present, as an educational medium for the younger generation to know the richness of culture and tradition, so that they love the ancestral heritage of Sumenep Regency.
