Magelang - Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has confirmed that the National Police continues to be committed to guarding government policies, especially in realising food and energy security, continuing investment and industrialisation, and maintaining security and public order stability.
‘Therefore, law enforcement officers and the handling of things that disturb the community are certainly our concern, because this has an impact on investment, both domestic and foreign,’ he said as a speaker at the 2025 Regional Head Retreat in the Tidar Valley of the Military Academy (Akmil) Magelang, Central Java, Tuesday (25/2/2025).
On the other hand, handling various kinds of social conflicts that occur in the community is also the main focus of the Police. This includes various criminal cases to online gambling.
He hopes that cross-sector collaboration, both central and regional governments, will be able to overcome these problems.
‘Therefore, let us work together with all existing stakeholders, with the central government, with the TNI-Polri, with existing ministries and institutions, and all existing elements to jointly build, realise our national goals,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto explained that understanding anti-corruption attitudes needs to be owned by regional heads. This is because they have a big responsibility to the people, especially in spurring economic growth, trade, and food self-sufficiency.
For this reason, he warned regional heads to be able to maintain the good name of the nation and state.
Setyo reminded that the positions held by regional heads are temporary. He hopes that regional heads are able to carry out their performance well and comply with applicable regulations.
‘I hope everything that is good becomes better. Those who obey become more obedient, those who respect become more respectful, those who respect their superiors, the president, leaders, anyone can be better,’ he said.
He emphasised to regional heads that power can be a loophole for corruption.
In addition, he also asked regional heads not to be tempted by reciprocity politics. That way, the administration of government in the regions can avoid legal problems.
‘Power has its time. Authority has its limits. When the time comes, power and authority that are abused will find a way to hold accountable through law enforcement,’ he said.
