Jakarta - Through Presidential Regulation Number 9 of 2016 and later updated to Presidential Regulation Number 23 of 2021, the One Map Policy (OMP) has been running for eight years and has played an important role in creating a unified, accurate, and accountable geoportal database reference standard to support the acceleration of national development implementation. The One Map Policy includes four main stages of activities, namely compilation, integration, synchronization, and sharing of geospatial data and information.
"The government is committed to resolving discrepancies in spatial utilization through synchronization activities, to provide legal certainty, improve the investment climate, and equitable economic distribution. This strong commitment is realized with the achievement of resolving inconsistencies in spatial utilization by 19.97 million hectares, from 77.38 million hectares in 2019 successfully reduced to 57.41 million hectares in 2024," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto at the One Map Policy (OMP) Summit 2024 in Jakarta, Thursday (11/07).
The OMP Summit 2024 was held to convey the progress of the acceleration of the One Map Policy and the settlement of space utilization discrepancies to the wider community, as well as to discuss recommendations for the sustainability of the One Map Policy and the settlement of space utilization discrepancies after 2024.
In addition, OMP Summit 2024 is also present as a step to encourage the sustainability of national development because it has increased the utilization of thematic maps which are products of the One Map Policy. To date, the One Map Policy has successfully compiled 151 thematic maps from 23 Ministries/Institutions in 38 Provinces.
On the first day of the OMP Summit 2024, a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) was also held, chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs as the Chairperson of the One Map Policy Acceleration Team to formulate strategies for achieving the One Map Policy implementation target, discuss the progress of the One Map Policy implementation in resolving space utilization discrepancies, and determine policy directions in the implementation of the One Map Policy Acceleration Post 2024.
With the strategic value and usefulness of the One Map Policy, a White Paper One Map Policy Beyond 2024 is currently being prepared which contains proposed recommendations for the continuation of the implementation of the One Map Policy after 2024, including strengthening the legal basis for the implementation of the One Map Policy, realizing and updating thematic maps and large-scale base maps, resolving space utilization discrepancies, improving the technology and infrastructure of the One Map Policy Geoportal, increasing the availability and capacity of Geospatial Human Resources, as well as strengthening, collaborating and optimizing the budget.
"The One Map Policy Geoportal is used for Geospatial Data and Information Sharing activities, which have been widely utilized by ministries/institutions and local governments, including for improving the quality of Spatial Plans, accelerating the affirmation of provincial and district/city administrative boundaries, including improving licensing governance and efforts to resolve land overlaps," Airlangga explained.
Head of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) Muh. Aris Marfai added regarding the sustainability of the One Map Policy after 2024. "That KSP remains a K/L work program, the availability of access and openness to data and information, increasing the quantity and capacity of qualified human resources in the field of geospatial information, and integrating One Data Indonesia with the One Map Policy, especially in laws and regulations," said Aris.
On the occasion, Airlangga also presented awards to ministries/institutions and local governments for their involvement in One Map Policy activities and resolution of space utilization discrepancies. (dep6/rep/fsr)
