Jakarta - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno asked managers of tourist destinations as well as creative economy centers in all regions of the country to prepare for the 2024 Eid holiday season, which is predicted to be crowded with tourists, especially domestic tourists.
Menparekraf Sandiaga in a written statement received by InfoPublik, Thursday (14/3/2024), revealed that the movement of the national community or archipelago tourists during this year's Eid holiday has the potential to reach 71.7 percent of Indonesia's population or 193.6 million people.
"That figure has increased compared to the 2023 Eid period, which is 123.8 million people," said Sandiaga.
Of these, the largest area of origin of the community's trip is estimated to be from Central Java with 31.3 million people or 16.2 percent. Then followed by Jabodetabek with 28.43 million people and Central Java with 26.11 million people.
As for the destination area, Central Java is estimated to be the largest destination with 61.6 million people, followed by Jabodetabek with 37.6 million people and West Java with 32.1 million people.
"So those who have destinations in Central Java must get ready, including the super-priority destination Borobudur, to prepare their destinations in accordance with our CHSE," Sandiaga said.
The peak of community movement for the homecoming flow is estimated to occur on H-2 Eid by 13.7 percent or as many as 26.6 million people. Meanwhile, the return flow is expected to occur on H+3 Eid, which is estimated to reach 21.2 percent or 41 million people.
Regarding transportation modes, based on data processed by the Ministry of Transportation through the Transportation Policy Agency in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Statistics, it is known that trains are still the most favorite choice of the community.
"We will continue to coordinate with local governments, stakeholders, and managers of tourist attractions including tourist villages to ensure their readiness so that this 2024 holiday moment can take place safely and smoothly," said Sandiaga.(InfoPublik/Photo: Biro Komunikasi Kemenparekraf)
