Solid Fundamentals to Open 2025, BNI Net Profit to Grow 9.7 Percent

Jakarta - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk recorded a 9.7% increase in net profit in January 2025 compared to the same period last year or year on year (YoY), from Rp1.48 trillion to Rp1.63 trillion. The increase was accompanied by credit growth and net interest income (NII).

BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said the company's efforts to maintain sustainable growth were evidenced by the achievement of financial performance from 2024 to the first one-month period of 2025.

“BNI's solid fundamentals can be seen from the performance throughout 2024 and January 2025 which consistently showed profit growth and lending in supporting our expansion this year,” Royke said in a press release, Friday (28/2/2025).

Based on the January 2025 financial report data published on the company's website, BNI's lending increased from Rp679.9 trillion to Rp749.8 trillion or grew 10.3% YoY. Net Interest Income (NII) increased from IDR 3.12 trillion to IDR 3.17 trillion.

BNI consistently prioritizes profitability growth, where credit growth is still supported by low-risk segments, namely the corporate segment which grew 17% YoY and consumer credit which increased 14% YoY.

“After several years of discipline in portfolio management, BNI has managed to maintain solid asset quality as seen from the credit cost of 1% in January 2025,” said Royke.

In addition, pressure on Net Interest Margin began to ease at the beginning of this year compared to the last condition last year. This is inseparable from macro conditions that benefit BNI, especially the downward trend in Bank Indonesia Rupiah Certificate (SRBI) yields and the potential for additional liquidity to the banking system in the second semester with the implementation of Foreign Exchange Export Proceeds (DHE) which must be placed in domestic banks 100% for 1 year.

On March 26, 2025, BNI is also planning to propose a dividend payout ratio that is greater than in previous years, where last year's dividend was recorded at 50% of net profit.

“Based on these achievements, we believe BNI can provide attractive added value for investors and all stakeholders,” Royke concluded. (InfoPublik.id)
