BNI Wins Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards 2024

Jakarta - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI has received an award from the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards for the third consecutive year for its achievements in delivering sustainability reporting.

BNI is the only Indonesian bank to win the award among other global banks.

BNI's Director of Risk Management, David Pirzada, said the award was an achievement for BNI's commitment to sustainability in running the banking business.

“This award highlights our commitment to high-quality sustainability reporting and our progress in addressing sustainability challenges,” David said in a press release received on Friday (7/3/2025).

Through the Asia's Best Sustainability Reporting Awards (Public Sector) category, BNI won a bronze award at the prestigious 10th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA), along with two companies from Kazakhstan and Taiwan.

The company also received the award in 2022 and 2023, affirming BNI's commitment to sustainability reporting in accordance with global standards.

Rajesh Chhabara, founder of the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards and Managing Director of CSRWorks, said that he commended BNI's commitment to sustainability reporting and transparent communication with stakeholders.

“By setting high benchmarks for quality disclosures in line with global standards, BNI is demonstrating leadership in managing sustainability impacts, risks, and opportunities with clarity and accountability,” he said.

Rajesh added that sustainability reporting enables companies to assess and communicate their sustainability performance, manage risk, build trust with stakeholders, and align their strategies with global sustainability goals. This can provide a competitive advantage, leading to improved financial performance and increased access to capital.

Winning the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards is a remarkable achievement for companies dedicated to excellence in sustainability reporting. The rigorous multi-level evaluation process involves three rounds of judging to select the best in each award category, taking into account the company's reputation among its stakeholders.

The 10th edition of ASRA was attended by leading companies from 13 countries in Asia competing in 17 award categories. For a complete list of finalists and award recipients, please visit www.csrworks.com/asra.
