Indonesian Startups Receive Nine Awards at ASEAN Digital Award 2025 Bangkok

 


Jakarta - Indonesian startups have again made achievements in the international arena by dominating the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, by winning nine of the 18 awards given. 

The awards include four gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals, most of which were won by startup partners of the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) through the digital mentoring program.

“This victory proves that Indonesia's startup ecosystem is not only growing rapidly, but also able to compete at the international level. We are very proud to see the hard work of the startup players who have made the nation proud,” said Minister of Communication and Digital (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid, in her statement regarding the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025 from Bangkok, Thailand, as reported Friday (17/1/2025).

According to Meutya, Kemkomdigi is committed to continuing to encourage the growth of Indonesia's startup ecosystem through various strategic programs and assistance. 

“We want this success to motivate other startups to innovate and bring Indonesia to shine in the global arena,” she added.

This success is considered to confirm Indonesia's position as a major force in the Southeast Asian digital ecosystem, while strengthening the country's role in innovative and inclusive digital transformation. 

Professor of the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of Indonesia, Prof. Eko K. Budiardjo, also appreciated this success by calling it the highest achievement in the digital field for Indonesia in the Southeast Asian region.

“This victory shows that Indonesia's digital innovation has reached a very competitive level,” said Eko, who is also one of the judges at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2025.

For your information, the ASEAN Digital Awards is an award event given to organizations, businesses, and individuals who have pioneered innovative products or services, which make a significant contribution to the digital landscape in the Southeast Asian region. Previously, this award was called the ASEAN ICT Awards (AICTA). Indonesia won five awards at this event in 2024.
