Indonesia-Singapore to Realize Clean Energy Investment and Workforce Strengthening


Jakarta - During his working visit to Indonesia, Singapore's Minister of Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Dr. Tan See Leng met with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.

During the meeting, which took place on January 16, 2025, the two Ministers discussed energy and labor sector cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore.

Indonesia is committed to promoting the development of clean energy in the face of climate change challenges. This move is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's vision to boost economic growth through environmentally-friendly development.

“The green energy transition certainly requires a comprehensive green growth policy framework, substantial investment, and international collaboration as the main elements,” said Airlangga in a press release received on Saturday (18/1/2025).

Therefore, Airlangga continued, Singapore's presence through investment in clean and renewable energy projects by utilizing various investment facilities is a positive support for Indonesia.

In addition, Airlangga also appreciated Singapore's commitment to support the capacity building of the workforce of both countries, both through the exchange of digital talents within the framework of the Tech X program and other workforce strengthening programs.

Minister Tan See Leng emphasized that Singapore will always be a strategic partner in supporting programs to improve the quality of the workforce of both countries. In response, Airlangga invited Singapore to continue to strengthen cooperation in the field of labor that has been well implemented.
