PT Inti and Russia's Largest Company Collaborate on National Digitalisation

Jakarta - PT INTI (Persero) is collaborating on Indonesia's digitalisation with Sberbank of Russia, the largest company in the Russian Federation, whose main shareholder is the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

"The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology supports PT INTI's collaboration with Sberbank, and is eager to witness the success of this partnership," said Ministerial Expert Staff for Technology at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Mochamad Hadiyana, in a statement in Jakarta, as quoted on Saturday (4/11/2023).

Hadiyana said the support was realised through directives given by him together with Director of Informatics Empowerment at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics' Directorate General of Informatics Application Bonifasius Pudjianto, and Expert Staff to the Deputy Minister for Bureaucratic Capability and Human Resource Development Dewi Ratih Kamiliah.

Director of Informatics Empowerment of the Directorate General of Informatics Applications of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Bonifasius Pudjianto added that the implementation of national digitalisation, both in the scope of e-government and public systems, will require a comprehensive legal umbrella.

The goal is to protect data, especially personal data, and content from various unnecessary information in the development of applications for the public and government.

"And, the most crucial thing in developing applications for the public and e-Government is the protection of data and content from unnecessary information," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister's Expert Staff for Bureaucratic Capability and Human Resource Development, Dewi Ratih Kamiliah, said that basically every foreign company that wants to do business in Indonesia must collaborate with national companies to transfer technology.

In this case, PT INTI is expected to become a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) company that plays an important role as a major producer in the national technology sector.

"Thus, PT INTI (Persero) in this case, plays the most important role in receiving the transfer of knowledge and technology. Because, in the future, we are the ones who will build, become producers of our own technology," said Dewi Ratih Kamiliah.

According to Dewi Ratih, in addition to the responsibility of transferring knowledge and technology, the collaboration between PT INTI (Persero) and Sberbank of Russia must complete the concept test stage before being implemented in government agencies and the public.

"This collaboration must execute proof of concept on how your concept and technology is working, we must know clearly," she said.

President Director of PT INTI (Persero) Edi Witjara said the collaboration between the two countries will be focused on expanding aspects of industrial digitalisation, especially related to financial services, security, smart devices for end users, healthcare, education, tourism and sports, and entertainment in Indonesia.

The strategic synergy between PT INTI and Sberbank of Russia itself has been executed through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) related to the Digitalisation of Indonesia between President Director of PT INTI (Persero) Edi Witjara and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia Alexander Vedyakhin, on Thursday, 2 November 2023, in Jakarta.

"This strategic collaboration between PT INTI (Persero) and global partners will be a positive track record when implemented later in the target market," concluded Edi.
