Java Blues and Roots Music Festival 2023, a Magnet for Tourists to Come to Borobudur


Magelang - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf / Baparekraf) supports the organization of a music event entitled "Java Blues and Roots Music Festival 2023" which will strengthen the music ecosystem as well as become a magnet for tourist visits and movements in the Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP) Borobudur and its surroundings.

Tourism and Creative Economy Principal Expert of Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf Nia Niscaya in "Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno", Monday (18/9/2023) said the "Java Blues and Roots Music Festival 2023" is a music event organized by the Borobudur Authority Implementing Agency (BPOB) on 23-24 September 2023 at De Loano Glamping, Purworejo, Central Java.

"Combining music concerts with camping activities in the Menoreh Hills will provide a different tourist experience and enjoy music for tourists," said Nia.

With the theme "Discover Your Adventure", Java Blues and Roots Music Festival 2023 is presented with an intimate concept, combined with camping in Borobudur Highland. The Blues Camp concept was chosen so that tourists can enjoy music concerts with a fresh atmosphere in the Borobudur Highland tourism area.

More than 15 musicians will perform at this event. Among them are Gugun from Gugun Blues Shelter, Barry Likumahuwa, Danny Loong (Singapore), Blues is Alright, Sarah Saputri, Dadang Navicula, Kongko Cadilac, and others. 

BPOB Acting Marketing Director Ramlan Kamarullah said the event is expected to become a new tourist magnet for tourists in the Borobudur tourism area and as a form of collaboration with the community. In addition, this performance is one of the efforts to promote the Borobudur Highland area to the wider community.

"Tickets for the Java blues and roots music festival 2023 are sold at 100 thousand and camp tents are sold from 250 thousand to 1,500,00 thousand," Ramlan said.

He said tourists will feel a different sensation in enjoying a music concert in the middle of a serene natural atmosphere supported by various adequate supporting facilities. The enthusiasm is quite good, currently the regular and VIP tents have been sold out so that the remaining Dom tents for a capacity of 4 people.

"The event is also expected to stretch the blues music ecosystem in the country," said Ramlan.
