Sumbawa Cultural Council Holds Cultural Symposium to Maintain Harmony and Tolerance

Sumbawa, Indonesia Herald  - The socio-cultural dynamics in West Nusa Tenggara became one of the considerations of the Sumbawa Cultural Council (Makewa) to hold a Cultural Symposium at the Palace of Sultan Kaharuddin III Sumbawa for two days (3-4/8/2023). The event, which involved religious leaders, community leaders, cultural figures, academics, students and the general public, produced a number of cultural recommendations to be applied in West Nusa Tenggara, especially Sumbawa.

Responding to the development of the security situation of public order in West Nusa Tenggara Province, especially Sumbawa, in maintaining harmony and tolerance in the implementation of the 2024 Election stages, the Sumbawa Cultural Council together with Tana Samawa leaders and cultural experts fully support the achievement of security in the implementation of the 2024 Election.

Nurfajri Saputra, Chairman of the Sumbawa Cultural Council, said that the importance of maintaining good manners as Sumbawa people is one of the important steps to maintain security and order in the community.  "Various problems can be solved by sitting together or by using the cultural customs approach of each region," he said after the symposium took place.

Furthermore, he hopes that the organization of this cultural symposium can revive culture in Sumbawa and West Nusa Tenggara, both in terms of manners, religion and social procedures so as to create harmony in society and the state.
