Jakarta, Indonesia Herald - The Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Budi Arie Setiadi, encourages the acceleration of digital infrastructure development in rural areas through collaboration with the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration to accelerate the dissemination of information on village development.

"We must realize the development of digital infrastructure in villages, so that no one is left behind. Do not hesitate to coordinate with Kominfo and we will support. Just tell me directly. If we can provide it, we will speed it up," said Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie, during the Handover of Position with the Deputy Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration at the Operational Room, Main Building of the Ministry of Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, South Jakarta, Monday (24/7/2023).

Budi Arie handed over the position of Deputy Minister to Paiman Raharjo, who was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo at the State Palace on Monday (17/7/2023).

During the handover, the Minister appreciated the cooperation and support of the Ministry's community during his three years and nine months in office.

With his new position as Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie invites the ranks of the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration to support the spread of internet access to encourage progress in rural areas, especially realizing Independent Villages.

"So, it's time for us to accelerate village development, because one of the village's progress is seen from internet access. Villages are said to be advanced, independent, because they already have adequate telecommunications connectivity. Therefore, I hope that the cooperation between the Ministry of Communication and Information and the Ministry of Villages will continue," said Minister Budi Arie.

Furthermore, the Minister said that his party would be open to collaborating with the Ministry in adding insights and increasing the capacity of digital infrastructure in the village.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration because his experience on the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration has provided lessons to know Indonesia's development more broadly.

"We can know Indonesia, its development is moving, also a lot of technology we accelerate. When I am appointed as Minister of Communication and Information, I will not leave the Ministry of Villages and Transmigration because its business is related to signals," said Budi Arie.
