Bintan - The Bintan Regency Government continues to strive for high welfare for the elderly. This is evidenced, among others, by the BLT Lansia program which is allocated throughout the year to support the elderly economy. This spirit is also seen from the Chairperson of TP PKK Bintan Hafizha Rahmadhani who is very active in paying attention to the welfare of the elderly through PKK cadres.
The geographical area of Bintan, which is framed by a cluster of islands, does not dampen the spirit of equitable distribution of welfare. Hafizha was even seen enthusiastically dialoguing with several elderly people when she went down to Numbing Island in a series of Germas activities and a Talking Meeting with the Regent of Bintan.
"First, of course we ask how they are, how their health condition is. There are many things we can chat about, the important thing is that I want to know what our parents (elderly) still need for their welfare," Hafizha replied when asked after her casual discussion with several elderly people, Tuesday (11/07).
Her visit to Numbing Village was also accompanied by socialization to the elderly through PKK cadres by providing a little material related to health and healthy living patterns. This is very important for him to instill for parents in their old age.
Free health checks were also conducted to detect symptoms of diseases that are often experienced by elderly people. This stand was crowded with elderly people who wanted to check their blood pressure or just for consultation.
"At their age, they should no longer think about a lot of burdens or work. So it's our job, as children or the younger generation. We make them happy," she added.
Hafizha also handed over several food packages for the elderly, including nutritional packages for pregnant women and toddlers with stunting indications, which has been one of her concerns since last year.
